Way back in 1995 a very cool and rather underrated film called 'Strange Days' came out. The film painted a dark future with virtual reality, where people are "Jacked In" to a virtual reality player watching people in real time. 'Narcopolis' has that same feel, except in this future timeline all drugs are legal, and regulated. 'Narcopolis' has the same dark and torrid undertones.

The tone of this movie is ominous and foreboding. This is a true indie film and actually was helped by Kickstarter a long time ago. Back when this movie was called Dreck, of course your home for exclusives, Dan's Movie Report was first on the scene in coverage! http://dansmoviereport.blogspot.com/2012/06/dreck-future-of-london-is-bleak-new.html

More exclusives! http://dansmoviereport.blogspot.com/2013/10/narcopolis-aka-dreck-new-poster.html
Needless to say this is a great film for those who like the near future bleak concepts. If happy, nice, romantic comedies are your idea of fun, this is not that film, trust me. This is a labor of love, and although 'Narcapolis' took a long time to complete the end result is well worth it.
In the world of 'Narcopolis' addicts have wristband, and they are forced to do things. As this is a very early U.S. review I decided not to go into plot or specific points to spoil the film. The actors, Elliot Cowan,
Elodie Yung,
Jonathan Pryce all do a great job of setting the tone, with urgent emotion, animated body movements and great facial expressions.. 'Narcopolis' writer/director Justin Trefgarne
also manages to get the maximum out of his secondary characters, which is a thing often overlooked on indie films. There is a duality and complexity in 'Narcopolis' not found on many indie films.
The story unfolds quickly, and skirts the line between Sci-Fi and Drama. Be prepared to re-watch to get the full impact!
Dan's Movie Report reccommends 'Narcopolis' as a must buy, 9 out of 10, the film is actually available now on Amazon.co.uk! Please follow this link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Narcopolis-DVD-Jonathan-Pryce/dp/B00Y0HN48Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1443370205&sr=8-2&keywords=narcopolis
In the U.S. the film screens as an IFC Midnight special! http://www.ifcfilms.com/films/narcopolis/
Watch for it October 2nd!

Seeking Dolly Parton Movie Review (2015) A Dan's Movie Report Exclusive!
Above Photo: (C) 2015 Grizzly Peak Films
Greetings Dan's Movie Report readers, a break from the action films and a swerve to the left of center with this smart and quirky comedy called Seeking Dolly Parton. The film is really good, and centers on two ladies who happen to be lesbian, and one happens to want to have a baby. A chance meeting turns to friendship, love and commitment.
Back in 2010 the fantastic Italian film 'Room In Rome' centered on a chance meeting, two ships passing in the night, an irreverent and sexy look at the one night stand, salacious and daring. 'Seeking Dolly Parton' is the opposite, two ships passing, but eventually coming together for a long term commitment, without the sordid sexual overtones.
The film's performances are undulating and intrinsically powerful. Kacey Barnfield as Charlie and Anya Monzikova as Cerina give amazing and academy caliber character life to 'Seeking Dolly Parton' from their meeting on the Subway train platform right till the end.
This is a dialogue laden film, but never gets bogged down due to the masterful story and direction from Michael Worth. Michael Worth comes from an action related background, but blasts into drama very successfully with such erudite films as 'God's Ears'. Worth has a way of maximizing the abilities of who ever he works with ranging from legendary action actress Michiko Nichiwaki to the Kacy and Anya.
This is a solid, and technically well produced comedy/drama. Tinging on humor, never overt, never over the top. Even though this is technically a lesbian drama, I feel a wider audience will enjoy the film as the subject matter crosses, gender boundaries. The ladies are not only beautiful to gaze at, they have the accouterments of far more experienced actors, and I predict great things in the future for both Kacey and Anya.
Overall 'Seeking Dolly Parton' rates an 8.5 out of 10, worthy of a purchase and support in initial screenings. Go see it!
This is a very preliminary review so no spoilers. The film is screening in Chicago September 22 Go to http://reelingfilmfestival.org/2015/films/seeking-dolly-parton/

The Boom Boom Girls Of Wrestling Movie Review (2015) (Exclusive!) (C) Danny Templegod
Above photo: (C) 2015 Boom Boom Girls Facebook Page
Special thanks to director and producer Carolin Von Petzholdt for allowing me an exclusive review prior to the film's October debut on Itunes.
Get your 80s transport vehicles ready, time to take a trip to the proverbial movie past, as this Andy Sideras meets 'Halloween' film 'The Boom Boom Girls Of Wrestling' is an account of a small time ladies wrestling troupe, called The Boom Boom Girls, hold auditions to prepare for an upcoming show in Vegas.
This film, unlike Andy's films has only implied sexuality and tinges on the humor side. The first half of the film we get to watch the ladies audition for the contract, and one particular girl is only 16 and is told, "Can you get a fake ID?" "If so you can have the contract." So yeah the promoter is sleazy, just about like every wrestling promoter, so in a sense that part is real
We soon watch the ladies train. To me this is probably the most entertaining part of the first half of 'The Boom Boom Girls', as legendary stunt queen Melissa R. Stubbs and sultry stunt dynamo Crystal Santos train the ladies. I really enjoyed them on screen together, and it is nice to see ladies who are known for stunts blast out some dialogue, they have made a seamless transition from stunt work to acting. Not to spoil it, but seems like these two sexy ladies have more in common than just training the up and coming wrestlers.
The second half of the movie is almost like a totally different film, and I will not spoil it, but let us just say the humor is gone, and the tone is more dark and urgent I think the majority of the film's audience will enjoy the second part of the film a bit more, due to character development and eerie setting. Who lives, who dies, who gets crazy? Watch and find out, hahaha!
Apparently this film was made on a micro budget, and for how it turned out, it is watchable, if you happen to be a cult horror fan. The technical aspects of the film are clear and easy to view, even the dark scenes are clear and appropriately lit. Carolin worked hard in her multiple hat wearing performance as one of the wrestlers as well as Director/Writer/Producer. In fact not since the fantastic 2002 French film "In My Skin" have I witnessed a woman work on all aspects of a film.
Overall a decent effort, wanted to see a bit more action, a bit more horror, and more silliness. Some of the secondary characters, were not that great. I am sure if given a bigger budget Carolin's next film will be better. I rate this film a 6.5 out of 10 an itunes rent, get your chicken mask on, and slasher knife, and have some fun. I rate Melissa and Crystal each a 10 on the swing scale of maniacal ladies in film, so watch for future interviews on your home for crazy action Dan's Movie Report. To quote Crystal "Run Bitch, cause this is gonna be fun!" Hahah! Note to self, buy a swing set, apparently ladies like it!

Nina Mech! http://ninabergman.ecrater.com/
Greetings fellow action movie watchers, Danny here from your #1 worldwide indie source of action, Dan's Movie Report. Fresh of the presses is Art Camacho's tail of action, seduction and treachery, 'The Chemist'! Haters be damned, Art has pulled out all of the stops and this film screens in 4k 5.1 surround sound live September 25th at the fantastic Action On Film Festival in Southern California, The Tickets are $10 and trust me, will be well worth it!

Because this is a very early, and preliminary review, there will be no spoilers, yeah not the way to go. The plot revolves around an assassin who refuses to kill a woman he just meets, and is double-crossed by his employer.
Interestingly enough, this marks the feature film action debut of both Nina Bergman, and Stephanie Gerard. Both actresses had to undergo intense physical training for the 102 minute film. Please check out their exclusive interviews on Dan's Movie Report @ http://dansmoviereport.blogspot.com/2014/09/actress-nina-bergman-interview.html
Steph: http://dansmoviereport.blogspot.com/2014/09/actress-stephanie-gerard-interview.html
On the highlights of the 'The Chemist' is a balance and strong female character development. Most action films the action lady in there is rather one dementional, these ladies have the heart and determination to drive home the concepts put forth in 'The Chemist'
Above Photo: Art, Steph, and Carmen. (C) 2014
Art Camacho told e that this was nit an easy shoot, but the team worked hard in the previous months to get the film ready for the screening. Art is a solid individual, and very respectful, and manages to pull together a gritty, whirlwind action film. The character development in 'The Chemist` is on the fly
we learn the characters as the story unfolds. What makes this film work is that, the audience is fed tidbits, but never the whole picture.
Special mention goes to director of photographer Carmen Cabana, and her astute eye in framing backdrop in relation to the scene. A particular sequence in which a thug is dangled over the side of a building for information, rather than choosing a close shot, the scene is lensed at a dramatic angle, showing the wreckage below, the building, and the faces.
This film has some minor issues, a bit of pacing as the pace was a trifle relaxed, and perhaps needed to show a bit more urgency. The run tie of 102 minutes could have been tightened to perhaps 95. The acting was decent, the ladies, Nina and Stephanie, seemed to show the most emotion. but some of the smaller characters seemed like they might not have been fully focused on the scene. The fight scenes had some stop action and slow motion, perhaps due to the different fighting levels of the characters. Master Eric Lee has a small scene and he is tremendous. My main complaint is the lighting in the darker scenes. it seemed a bit off, hard to follow.
These are nit picky things, but overall this is a very good film. Especially when stacked against some of the low budget films of Oliver G`s in the 90s. `The Chemist is seething, aggressive, angry and thanks too Nina and Steph, damn sexy.
Overall `The Chemist` rates a solid 7.5 out of 10, a must see. I am sure this production is a building block for years to come for people involved, and the next effort will only get better.
