Bound (2015) Movie Review
Greetings Dan's Movie Report readers. Today's fine film is 'Bound'. No, not the sexy amazing one with Gina Gershon, that had men climbing the walls, this is the 2015, rather tepid one, modeled after '50 Shades of Grey', but more like about 3 to 4 shades of grey, perhaps a dull grey at that.
The film opens with a 40 something business woman having a steamy affair, that is anything but steamy. Charisma Carpenter, plays our lust heroine and is just chalked full of salacious ideas, sadly when it comes to acting on them on screen she is more of a cold fish than hot minx.
The film ties in the fact that her father is CEO of a failing company that has lost 100 million dollars and is ripe for take over by another company! Also in the film is Terrell Owens, he plays a mogul who buys property! Seriously T.O. of football fame is in this! I was stunned, complete with his clever character name of course "Terrell" I have to hand it to the good folks at The Asylum, wow they reach deep for awesomeness! Terrell gives the most stupendous, greatest, amazing, earth shattering, breathtaking performance ever on screen, wait dammit, wrong movie.
Of course she is seduced by an younger man who goes by Ryan (Bryce Draper). If anyone can make a rather tepid stodgy love scene any less interesting Bryce you win! Not sure if it is direction, or his own sense of actually being afraid or repulsed by Charisma Carpenter, I must say Bound has some of the most unusual and uninteresting love scenes, with the "who gives a crap" facial expressions to match.
Ok, enough of the negative, the movie does get quite entertaining plot wise for the last 30 minutes, when Ryan purchases a 'special' gift for Michelle. He asks her to 'wear it' to the board meeting, and this meeting is anything but bored! Haha. Well then one thing leads to another and some crazy mixed up crap happens which I will not spoil, yeah it is worth a watch to see it. Think bondage, and face-mask!

The brightest spot in the film is definitely Michelle's daughter Dara (Morgan Obenreder) She exudes style and panache. Her character is rebellious and fun. Also she gets involved in some way with the kinky stuff, and surprise, she pulls it off with ease. Morgan has a bright future in acting, she has a clear speaking voice, expressive eyes, and is seems to put 120 percent into her effort on 'Bound'. Cream rises to the top, and sometimes even an average film can bring out the best in people.
Overall 'Bound 2015' is average, the last 30 minutes push it to the solid rent category and rates a 5 out of 10. Morgan I give a 9 out of 10 for her performance! The film is available for worldwide purchase.

Chyna McCoy Chats Bayne Legacy Apocalypse! A Dan's Movie Report Exclsuive!
Above Photo: Poster for Bayne (C) 2013 Chyna McCoy
For the past 12 years I have watched Andre McCoy on screen, after our interview in late 2013 http://dansmoviereport.blogspot.com/2013/10/andre-chyna-mccoy-exclusive-interview.html Chyna told me he has decided to go in full hard on his own personal Bayne Legacy Apocalypse project. Over the past year Chyna has developed books, screenplays, a full budget plan, comics, game ideas, everything needed to create an entirely new franchise. We had an informal chat, rather than dressing it up, here is the chat as it happened! Get It, got it, go!
How are the prospects for Bayne LA?
Have you had some people check out your work?
Chyna Mccoy
Chyna Mccoy
Prospects
are always good and everyone always checks it out its just getting more
exposure and financiers to back it, but people wanting it and liking it
isn't an issue.
Any firm commitments, actors/actresses interested in Bayne at this point? I saw Carly's name mentioned. I feel surrounding yourself with a quality team is so important.

Carly
is just my good friend, Currently my promoting takes place on Twitter. Twitter has all
the needed sources. Actors are easy to find if the source material is good, they aren't the issue. Actually it is the promotion of the film, and the financial package and budget which
they look at. For now, more promoting to film executives, studio heads, horror sites,
and cosplay fans etc...
Cool, do you feel the comic or horror conventions are a viable option for promotions, or do you see more of a film based promotional aspect.Twitter is a powerful tool, that is how I get interviews, no agents needed and 'Direct Messaging' to the person.

Chyna: And yes Twitter, it is a great tool for promotion. Bayne is action
horror, and supernatural, as well as Cosplay, video games, and comics.
On twitter I am able to hit all areas, all people on all levels.
- So more all encompassing
-
By doing the huge 3d photo books, and a story board book you can see what sells bestis that the idea?
Chyna Mccoy
Well, I did the books because they needed to be done, but the animated book is for everyone.- as well as the 3d animated book
Chyna Mccoy
Exactly, so if one goes, the others are already prepared, and on the shelvesI have it fully encompassed.
Would you ever want to shoot a 5 minute scene kind of like Vlad does for action?- Chyna Mccoy
Everyone shoots a five minute scene all the time, and then they put it on youtube. These films have very little impact in the film business unless you are looking to do stunts.Bayne needs to be shot as a whole film. I already have worked on clips for it in the end. This package I created is more professional than any Hollywood package I have ever seen in my life in this business. Bayne Legacy Apocalypse needs money, definitely, no more theatrics.
Yes I agree with you. I have to ask you to be honest, what is a secondary plan to Bayne, back to China to work with Tiger? I just want to see you succeed, in what ever capacity you desire. like I still work in retail, but I write so, that is where I am going with this question?
Chyna Mccoy
Secondary, there is no secondary its all or nothing!I go back and forth to China for work, that's always going to happen.Even China has my Bayne Package, I have my word and self ready to go at all times.
I love doing my Dan's Movie Report site solo, thus my work is always ready, No BS!
Kind of like you with Bayne?- Chyna Mccoy
And its great.
Thanks Chyna, we will chat soon. Watch for more on Chyna and check out his Bayne Legacy Apocalypse http://www.blurb.com/b/5518096-bayne-legacy-apocalypse-the-end-is-a-new-beginning?class=book-title

The Scrorpion King 4: Quest for Power Movie Review
Hard to believe it was over 12 years ago when the first Scorpion King hit the movie theaters. With a big budget The Rock and Kelly Hu, the movie was pretty cool, but definitely did not live up to the box office expectations that the mummy franchises have set. The three spawned sequels have all been DTV movies.
Fast forward to 2015, Scorpion King, now with it's third DTV sequel has established itself to the home movie market as a raucous fun filled adventure, part Indiana Jones and part UFC haha. While the third film focused more on interplay between characters and an eventual budding romance between Silda (Krystal Vee) and Mathayus (Victor Webster) The 4th installment is a slobber-knocker fight fest complete with cameos from Lou Ferrigno, Don (The Dragon) Wilson and WWE Superstar Eve Torres, Royce Grace, Esme' Bianco, and Antonio Silva. Yes, the preceding names are an example of why this film is a fight fest more than a quest fest.
The movie is full of action in the first 30 minutes and hardly slows down enough to give the audience a chance to breathe, so if action is your cup of blood than enjoy. We start learning of the plot in earnest when Mathayus gets thrown into the dungeon after being caught, and meets up with the slinky yet feisty blonde lady named Valina played by Ellen Hollman Ellen Hollman's performance was aggressive when need be and feminine when need be. Ellen is beautiful and is obviously fully aware of her character's movements and actions. Check out Ellen on her official site @ http://ellen-hollman.com/

(thanks for the correction-Ellen)
Once they are freed from the dungeon their quest begins to find the keyhole that the ancient key opens. There are chase scenes, hiding, fighting and running across the terrain of the mythical countryside as Valina looks to her father for the answers to the Key.
Scorpion King 4 has some flaws, although it is full of action, unlike the third installment, is just not witty and humorous enough to fulfill the quota. Scorpion King 3 had massive battle scenes with Elephants, chases etc, and felt like a much "bigger" film then the actual budget. More questionable CGI in Scorpion King 4 takes away from the feel of the film as well. An example is a series of swinging pendulum blades in a room they had to pass. Their were too many blades, and the movement was not fluid, perhaps two actual fulcrum blades, painted and looking like real ones would have had more impact.
I loved the fighting, however, and Scorpion King 4 delivers one of the most epic female fights in any film between Valina and Chancara (Eve Torres) The massive fight seems to go on for an eternity with ebbs and flows during there undulating battle. Eve Torres is aggressive and really enjoyable to watch, I hope she can get some lead antagonist roles in the future. She looks really mean and angry, and is threatening enough to be believable as a rough and tumble bad girl.
Finally, after a second viewing, which I did enjoy a bit more than the first, I evaluate the film at a 6.5 out of 10. A definite watch, and purchase if action is your desire. The film is available worldwide today and can be purchased through the link below on Amazon.

Rope A Dope 2 -The Return Of The Martial Art Mafia Movie Review
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5VSi7YNr4Y
Full Film on Youtube in Above Link!
In the decade or so I have been writing about Eric Jacobus and The Stunt People, they never have disappointing, always fresh and innovative with new ideas. With Rope A Dope 2, Eric and the gang have out done themselves not only in creativity, but in epic, maniacal humor. In the opening sequence which I have to reference to "Live Die, Repeat" we see the same sequence with our hero waking up with a newspaper thrown through the window hitting his head, and subsequently ending up in a fight.
Although 18 minute film has no dialogue, the action and settings tell the story of two guys locked in combat and one up fighting. Literally everything can be used as a weapon and in homage to 'Karate Kid' a weapon's master "read guy pushing a grocery cart of odd discarded items" trains our hero not the force but haha mastering the art of frying pans and canes!
The fights are long and memorable, particularly the one outside with the frying pan with multiple attackers. Eric is a master of unusual weapons, not sure what will be in his next effort, but I am waiting for a European Cucumber!
Rope A Dope 2 is by far the highest production value on any of The Stunt People shorts. A definitive collabrative effort as Clayton Barber and Freddie Poole involved as producers, and Eric and Pete Lee are directing.. In fact the film is listed as a Barber Jacobus production. This is significant. I believe further collaboration between various action groups will untimately lead to better production values and higher quality material, worthy of a strong look from studios to eventually pluck out various people.
On the sexy action side watch for a short cameo by Ashley Short, obviously she can mix it up with the boys, actually I hope in future Stunt People production action women are given a chance to shine. Eric, still waiting for a Mileena Stryker fight! Seriously though, strong female characters are a standard even on the big budget films now. I am definitely looking for more Ashley in the future!
Finally, after interviewing Eric last year: I must say his beard is now at the legendary status, please completely follow his grooming habits, and read his in depth interview you will learn not only his new projects and ideas, he will tell you what razor he uses, exclusively on your home for insane action, and follicle fancy, Dan's Movie Report! http://dansmoviereport.blogspot.com/2014/06/eric-jacobus-interview-c-2014-dans.html Watch for more from Eric in 2015!
I watched Rope A Dope 2 three times and have come to the conclusion that this is far and away the best piece that Eric has had a hand in working on. Rope A Dope 2 rates an sky high kick to the face, and hot frying pan to the head 9.5 out of 10, yeah it is that good!
