Special thanks to director and producer Carolin Von Petzholdt for allowing me an exclusive review prior to the film's October debut on Itunes.

Get your 80s transport vehicles ready, time to take a trip to the proverbial movie past, as this Andy Sideras meets 'Halloween' film 'The Boom Boom Girls Of Wrestling' is an account of a small time ladies wrestling troupe, called The Boom Boom Girls, hold auditions to prepare for an upcoming show in Vegas.

This film, unlike Andy's films has only implied sexuality and tinges on the humor side. The first half of the film we get to watch the ladies audition for the contract, and one particular girl is only 16 and is told, "Can you get a fake ID?" "If so you can have the contract." So yeah the promoter is sleazy, just about like every wrestling promoter, so in a sense that part is real

We soon watch the ladies train. To me this is probably the most entertaining part of the first half of 'The Boom Boom Girls', as legendary stunt queen and sultry stunt dynamo train the ladies. I really enjoyed them on screen together, and it is nice to see ladies who are known for stunts blast out some dialogue, they have made a seamless transition from stunt work to acting. Not to spoil it, but seems like these two sexy ladies have more in common than just training the up and coming wrestlers.

The second half of the movie is almost like a totally different film, and I will not spoil it, but let us just say the humor is gone, and the tone is more dark and urgent  I think the majority of the film's  audience will enjoy the second part of the film a bit more, due to character development and eerie setting. Who lives, who dies, who gets crazy? Watch and find out, hahaha!

Apparently this film was made on a micro budget, and for how it turned out, it is watchable, if you happen to be a cult horror fan. The technical aspects of the film are clear and easy to view, even the dark scenes are clear and appropriately lit. Carolin worked hard in her multiple hat wearing performance as one of the wrestlers as well as Director/Writer/Producer. In fact not since the fantastic 2002 French film "In My Skin" have I witnessed a woman work on all aspects of a film.

Overall a decent effort, wanted to see a bit more action, a bit more horror, and more silliness. Some of the secondary characters, were not that great. I am sure if given a bigger budget Carolin's next film will be better. I rate this film a 6.5 out of 10 an itunes rent, get your chicken mask on, and slasher knife, and have some fun. I rate Melissa and Crystal each a 10 on the swing scale of maniacal ladies in film, so watch for future interviews on your home for crazy action Dan's Movie Report. To quote Crystal "Run Bitch, cause this is gonna be fun!" Hahah! Note to self, buy a swing set, apparently ladies like it!
